Christmas at the Opryland Hotel, Nashville TN

Hi Everyone!
Mom. her friend and I went to Opryland Hotel and Franklin Tn a few weeks ago. We had so much fun!
We did alot of walking, shopping and of course eating LOL! I was a little disappointed in Franklin though. There wasnt alot of shopping like people said there was but Meridee's Cafe was wonderful! The only thing I bought was a cute chunky right hand ring! On to Opryland.. now this was definately worth the trip! This place was gorgeous! We went to Archiver's that just opened up in the area. That was fun! I just bought a few things.. Graphic 45 Christmas Emporium 8 x8 Paper pad and the new Picket Fence Distress Stain that I couldnt find anywhere else! Overall it was a nice weekend getaway and my Mom's friend Karen is a hoot!
Here are some pics of our trip!

Paris Themed Frames!

Hi Everyone!
I found these cute little black frames at Goodwill for 59 cents each! They were an ugly orange color so I painted them with black arylic paint. I used rub n buff to get the gold highlights. I love that stuff!

The paper is from  Prima's Printery collection. I purchased the Eiffel Tower from Mini Album Scraps.
I dipped the Eiffel tower piece in clear embossing ink and then black embossing powder and heat set it
with my heat gun, I loved the glossy look it has! The mulberrry roses are from IamRoses, they were white and I sprayed them with my New Lindy's Stamp gang starburst sprays in wake you up before you go gold, fuzzy navel peach and then I painted some with Folkart Paint in Metallic Gold.
I adhered them on a black shabby chic flower from Sa Crafters. The paris clock embellishment is from starlit studios.

The other frame has the same paper line in it. All of the roses are from IamRoses.I purchased the adorable dressform from Mini Album Scraps as well. I just used various trims I had in my stash to make her dress.
I loved making these. They are gonna go perfect in my scrapbook room!
Have a Beautiful Day!

I am not MIA !

Hi Bloggers!
I just wanted to let ya'll know that I am not missing in action! I hurt my back last Sunday and I have been in bed all week! Uggh! I have not been able to create at all this week! I finally went to the dr on Thursday..
Diagnosis: Pulled sciatic nerve! Now those of you out there know that have back problems know how painful it can be! I could not sit up straight for more than a few minutes. Only relief was to lay on my right side! My laptop kept me sane!
My wonderful hubby waited on me hand and foot and so did my sweet Rachel. My fabulous odd came to visit me to see if I needed anything! My wonderful Mom checked on me constantly! I am so fortunate that
I have such a loving and caring family! I am doing alot better now so I am going to create tomorrow so I should have a project to post this weekend!
Hugs!

My Desk Sign!

Hi Everyone!
I wanted to share a project that I made. Sa Crafters is having a desk sign contest on you tube, and I
thought I would make myself one. I didn't enter the contest, but I had fun making this. I purchased the wood plaque from Hobby Lobby. I painted it with white acrylic paint, let it dry and then went over it with distress
crackle paint in picket fence and I also used rock candy crackle paint to give it a glossy, crackled shine.

The top and bottom is adhesive backed recollection bling. The metal key is also from Hobby Lobby. I painted it with black acrylic paint and adhered with hot glue.  The vellum butterfly is from Martha Stewart crafts. I added a black feather, some more black recollection bling, and a color me crazy flower with a ribbon flower on top and I made the stick pin using
a corsage pin, glass beads and glossy accents. I loved how my sign turned out!

Here is a closeup of the butterfly and the metal key!

Here is a closeup of the stick pin I made!

Thanks for looking!
Have a Blessed Day :-)

BitterSweet Day!

It's so hard to believe that my baby girl is in 5th grade now! She is growing up waaay to fast for me!
Gone are the cute little pig tails, sipee cups, mcdonald's happy meals and light up tennis shoes.

Now all she likes is... Straight long hair, sequined and bright clothing, flip flops and adult dinners, teen magazines and her laptop!

Where does time go?

Historic Loudon TN

Goodness! I didnt realize that it has been almost 2 wks since I have posted...! Well my Mom and I went to this cute little town that is fairly close to by...We have passed it before on our way to Knoxville and said we need to check this town out sometime so last Saturday we did.. I really enjoyed browsing thru all the cute qauint little shops there. I didnt buy much just a cute vintage pill box and some yummy blueberry jam! Here are some pics of our excursion!

This is my wonderful Mom who is also my best friend :)
This little ice cream parlor was featured in the Southern Living Magazine in 2004 as favorite place to go for ice cream!

This is the cutest little store with lots of  barrels of old fashioned candy and they have yummy candles and salsa, jams and jellies and the sweetest poodle named Cooper who greets you as you come in the front door!

I definately want to go back here when my knee gets better, they have some beautiful antiques on the 2nd floor! This was a fun store to browse in!

And here is me and my bummed up knee!
